Towards Consumer Evangelism

The marketing forum of Chetana’s Institutes of Management & Research organized its annual marketing event, Vipanan on Thursday 14th September, 2017.  The theme of Vipanan 2017 was Towards Consumer Evangelism.

Chief Guest for the day, Mr Ambi Parmeshwaran, Founder, Brand Building.com in his inspirational speech talked on customer activation and consumer insights for break-through advertisements.

Guest of Honour, Mr. Sudarshan Jain, former M.D, Abbott Healthcare Solutions spoke on innovation in health care.

The panel discussion on ‘Consumer Evangelism through Consumer Engagement’ witnessed some veterans from the industry:

Mapping a customer lifecycle, micro segmentation, data analysis, segmenting, targeting, positioning, concept of ‘screenagers’, creating an application, diversification of criteria, innovation, etc. were some of the ideas discussed at the lively and enriching panel discussion.

A second lively panel discussion marked the post-lunch session of Vipanan 2017. Distinguished guests from the industry discussed the theme – ‘Creative Disruption’:

Creative Disruption is a phrase that has been used in the marketing world for more than a decade to describe the desired break in existing patterns of behavior of the target audience in response to a highly creative message. The panelists discussed a wide range of aspects related to creative disruption.

The last session of the day was a power packed Brand Quiz, sponsored by BPCL. The quizmaster for the day Mr. Gautam Bose, CEO- Greycells hosted the quiz impeccably.

The Guest of Honour for the quiz was Mr. Nori Prabhakar, GM – Brand & PR. He spoke about the importance of vision, picturisation and actualization. He gave tips to the students on managing themselves by using a clock and a compass to keep track of both time and directions.

From a set of 166 students in the preliminary round of the quiz, the final round had only 12 students from which two teams emerged winner. First Year PG Marketing students were the winner and the first year MMS B students were the Runners-Up.

The event was a grand success and a testimony to creative disruption in event hosting!
