Objective of the FDP
The objective of the FDP is to equip faculty members from diverse disciplines with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools necessary to enhance their mental well-being. The FDP aims to foster self-awareness, emotional resilience, mindfulness, self-esteem, and work-life balance in the current digital age. Participants will be equipped to help their learners (Students) to recognise early signs of mental distress and cultivate habits that supports both personal and professional well-being.
The participants will also have an opportunity to use digital tools for mental and emotional well-being. Additionally, they will develop skills for digital detox and managing the use of digital devices.

Digital Incivility: Concept and skills for digital civil conversation and turning conflict into opportunity
Mindfulness: Tech and non-tech-based strategies to practice mindfulness techniques to reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance overall well-being
Hands-on and reflective activities, case studies and demonstrations for experimental learning.

We are proud to announce the successful completion of our 7 Days Online Faculty Development Program & Workshop, organised by CIMR in association with the Western Region Center of Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR-Mumbai)! Over the past week, the participants delved deep into various topics ranging from: Understanding the changing paradigm of higher education – the role of NEP, leveraging AI tools for streamlining the research process, mastering Structural Equation modelling techniques using Smart PLS, and harnessing the power of digital tools and platforms for enhanced teaching and learning experience.

Topic : Microsoft Power BI
Date : 16th February 2022
Time : 9:30 am to 4 pm
The FDP was conducted by Prof. Tapish Panwar, Faculty, CRKIMR, on Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Service tools. The FDP was designed to encourage all participants to explore more about Power BI, and use it in their teaching material, academic research, and consulting assignments.
More than 30 Faculty members and staff attended the FDP on 16 February 2022. The workshop made it very interesting for the participants to spot patterns and anomalies, thus making decision faster and robust.
The two hours practice on data sets and presentations by participants made learning very engaging and fruitful.

Topic: “Developing Cross Cultural Competency”

Chetana’s Institute of Management and Research (CIMR) organised an International Faculty Development Program in association with English Education Study Program, Department of English, Faculty of Language and Literatures (FBS) Makassar State University (UNM) on the theme “Developing Cross Cultural Competency”.
This Online International Faculty Development Programme conducted by Dr. Mahesh Luthia, Associate Professor and Area Chair, HR, CIMR.
The FDP was aimed at equipping the participants with the required approach and tools, to strengthen the students' team-building and team-management skills in a cross-cultural environment. The programme was also designed to provide practical tips on preparing their students to effectively work in culturally diverse virtual teams.
In the opening address of the Dean, Faculty of Language and Literatures presented by the Deputy Dean I, Dr. Sahril M. Hum, he welcomed the participants, Faculty members from Makassar State University as well as from Universities and Indonesia and the Philippines. The Dean expressed that the topic was very relevant to the current global situation in the light of Indonesian Universities pursuing international cooperation. He mentioned that the FDP was planned with an objective of providing Indian perspective of cross-cultural aspects in the teaching process and develop a positive attitude. He expressed that there was a need for the faculty to possess good cross-cultural competence in order to play an effective role in international academic interactions.
"Hopefully the cooperation that has been established for today's activities can pave the way for other forms of cooperation between our two institutions in the future," said Deputy Dean.
The curriculum was designed with a blend of practical and theoretical approaches for dealing with cross-cultural differences through interactive sessions, quizzes, reflections and case study discussion. The participants demonstrated high level of interaction with the facilitator and were open to sharing their experiences.
Dr. Madhumita Patil, CEO and I/C Director, CIMR graced the FDP and addressed the participants. She shared her experience of interacting with other cultures and need for such collaborative programme to enrich academic exchange of knowledge. She expressed her pleasure in meeting the participants virtually and was positive that the association with UNM would prove to be fruitful for both the institutions. She acknowledged the contribution of Dr. Chairil Anwar Korompot, Head of the English Education Study Program, Dr. Nur Aeni, moderator for the FDP and Dr. Mahesh Luthia, the facilitator for their efforts of organising the programme.
Dr. Chairil Anwar Korompot, proposed the vote of thanks. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Madhumita Patil, CEO and I/C Director, CIMR and Dr. Mahesh Luthia. He concluded on an optimistic note that both Institutions will soon sign a MOU to synergize and collaborate for academic innovations in future.
